The biggest new federal contract signed yesterday went to a sewer-line crew — 18.5 million to Bairco Construction, for utility work in Glacier National Park.

Across the board, agencies obligated 277 million yesterday — down 45 percent from the same weekday last week, but a sharp rebound from Sunday's 940 thousand.

Veterans Affairs led at 82 million; GSA followed with 46 million across 3,300 transactions; Interior took third at 36 million. The single largest transaction — 20.6 million to SAIC — was incremental funding on a GPS positioning and timing program.
